The Port Washington Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to announce that Port Rowing Training Center, located at 151 Main Street, is the most recent recipient of a grant for new signage. This grant is part of the BID’s ongoing program to support local businesses by enhancing the aesthetic appeal and visibility of storefronts within the District. Port Rowing is thrilled to be enhancing its new training center, which serves as a hub for athletic excellence and community engagement.
About Port Rowing and the new training center
Port Rowing, along with its supportive arm, the Friends of Port Rowing, has long been a staple in the community since 2011, fostering a love for rowing and healthy living. The organization operates one boathouse in the area, providing state-of-the-art facilities for rowers of all ages and skill levels. The new training center is a significant addition to their facilities, offering expanded opportunities for training and community interaction. Girls’ Varsity Head Coach, Pat Clary says, “We are super excited to expand our operation into a facility on Main Street, and we are super appreciative of our Port Washington Community for welcoming us! We have always felt a strong connection to the community here in Port Washington and we are super grateful to the BID for helping us continue to make a difference for the people of Port Washington! Go Port!”

The new signage will draw attention to the valuable programs and services they offer.”
BID’s Grant Program and Expanded Criteria
The Port Washington BID’s grant program is dedicated to supporting local businesses by offering financial assistance for improvements such as signage, facade enhancements, and the recently expanded criteria, which now includes funding for the cleaning of awnings. This expansion reflects the BID’s commitment to maintaining an attractive and inviting business environment.
