Join us October 31, 2026 for the annual Halloween Hunt
Attention Halloween Enthusiasts!
The Port Washington Halloween Scavenger Hunt returns on Saturday, October 31. Dust off your costume and join a fun community adventure exploring participating businesses throughout Port Washington, where themed placards will be displayed in store and business windows.
Planning note: The game card and list of participating restaurants will be posted by October 29.
How to Participate
Pick up a game card and goodie bag on Saturday, 10/31 at one of these two locations:
- Not So Scary Monster Bash — PRC west lawn, 10 a.m.–12 p.m. This option is for the littlest Halloween Hunters, and there is a fee to participate in the event.
- Port Washington Public Library — 1 Library Drive, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. This option is open to all ages. Game cards and goodie bags will be available while supplies last.
Self-Guided Fun
The hunt is self-guided, so families and visitors can participate at their own pace. Discover as many clues as possible, stroll through town, and visit stores for additional treats.
Make it your own: Explore at a comfortable pace and enjoy the fun, discovery, and treats along the way.
Find the unique placards in the windows of the Participating Businesses
Match the symbol to the business on your game card. The game card and list of participating restaurants will be posted by October 29. Who will find them all???

FAQs
Yes! The scavenger hunt is free and open to anyone aged 16 and under. Goodie bags will be distributed from the Library until supplies last.
for the littlest hunters who may want to get their bags while attending the PRC Not So Scary Monster Bash, we will be there to give you a free bag but there is a fee to attend the PRC event.
No! The Halloween symbols will be located in the windows of participating business just prior to the event. You are welcome to take a few days to find as many images as you like. However, the goodie bags will only be distributed on Saturday and while supplies last.
You do not need to find all the listed Halloween symbols in order to claim your goody bag from the Library.
You can visit as many or as few businesses as you have time to do. Just remember that the goodie bags will be distributed while supplies last.
You are welcome to shop at the participating businesses but the Halloween symbols will be located on each business window.
Start your quest by picking up a game card and goodie bag on Saturday, 10/31 in 2 locations:
- For the littlest Halloween Hunters, pick your bag and game cards at the Not So Scary Monster Bash at the PRC west lawn from10 am – 12 (please note, there is a fee to participate in this event).
- OR for all ages start your quest at the PW Public Library. Bags and gamecards will be given out from 10 am to 3 pm at 1 Library Drive, while supplies last.
