Port Washington’s popular summer street festival, Port Promenade, will return to Main Street for two Thursday evenings this summer, bringing live music, family activities, shopping, and outdoor dining to the heart of downtown. The event will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, and Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each evening.
On June 18, Main Street will be closed to vehicles from Library Drive to Central Drive. On July 16, the event will move to Upper Main Street, with Main Street closed from Port Washington Boulevard to Mackey Avenue. Each evening will feature a car-free, pedestrian-friendly setting designed to encourage residents and visitors to enjoy the restaurants, shops, entertainment, and community spirit that make Port Washington special.
Port Promenade will once again offer a festive mix of activities for all ages, including live entertainment, family-friendly games, and outdoor dining options. Organizers are planning a lively summer experience that highlights local businesses and creates an inviting place for neighbors to gather, stroll, and celebrate together.
The event is co-hosted by the Port Washington Business Improvement District, the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce, and Landmark on Main Street, and is supported by the Town of North Hempstead and the Port Washington Police Department. Port Washington BID and Precision Work, Inc. are the event sponsors.
Attendees are encouraged to check the Try Port First app for updates, entertainment schedules, and event information. Free parking will be available on side streets and in LIRR lots.
Port Promenade has become a beloved tradition in Port Washington, drawing families, friends, and visitors together for an evening of food, music, and community connection. The 2026 edition will continue that tradition with two distinct summer dates in different sections of Main Street, giving the community two opportunities to enjoy the event.
