The Port Washington Business Improvement District (BID) is thrilled to announce that Orlando’s Deli has been honored as the most recent grant recipient. This grants recognize the business owners’ dedication to enhancing the local business landscape in Port Washington.
Orlando’s Deli Port Washington, located at 18 Main Street, marks the deli’s third location, expanding from the original Orlando’s spot at 369 Plandome Road in Manhasset, and its Bethpage location which opened in 2022. Known for its delicious deli classics and contemporary twists, Orlando’s has cultivated a loyal following over the years. This new venture in Port Washington is not only a business expansion but a homecoming for co-owner Roberto Garnica, whose roots in the community add a personal touch to the new location.
“We have been looking for a Port Washington location for several years,” said co-owners Manuel Roberto Garnica (Roberto) and Freddy Chavez. “Roberto lives in Port Washington, where his children attended the nearby Schreiber High School, so the new Orlando’s location at 18 Main Street is close to home. Also, many Port residents have been customers of Orlando’s Manhasset, already know Roberto and Freddy, and have encouraged them for years to open a location in Port. So, after two years of renovation and administrative delays, we are thrilled to finally open Orlando’s Deli Port Washington at 18 Main Street. The Orlando’s Deli team is happy to be here, and we look forward to serving the Port Washington community.”

Donna Rice, a board member of the Port Washington BID, expressed her enthusiasm for the deli’s arrival, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Roberto and Freddy to Port Washington. Their commitment to quality and community aligns perfectly with our vision for the area. We encourage other business owners to inquire about the opportunities available through the BID, as they represent a wonderful chance to enhance and grow local businesses.”
The Port Washington BID initiatives aim to support local businesses in their growth and development. The sign grant has expanded to allow grant recipients to seek funding for awning cleaning as well as new signage.
