The Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District (BID) is delighted to announce a grant awarded to Studio D, a new dance and fitness studio located at 121 Manorhaven Blvd. This grant highlights Studio D’s commitment to enhancing the local business community. Owned and operated by Desiree Durand, Studio D is a vibrant addition to Port Washington’s fitness scene, offering a welcoming space for dance, exercise, and community connection.
Desiree Durand: A New Chapter in Port Washington’s Fitness Scene

Desiree Durand, a passionate fitness and Zumba instructor with 15 years of experience, proudly unveils Studio D, her newly established dance studio in Port Washington. For the past 13 years, Desiree has dedicated herself to teaching group fitness classes in this vibrant community, forming lasting connections with her members who have become both friends and a steadfast support system.
The Launch of Studio D
Having rented spaces in Port Washington for the last four years, Desiree always dreamed of establishing her own studio in a town she deeply loves. “Port Washington feels like home to me,” she shares. “The diversity and warmth of the community are unparalleled, and I am grateful to have such an incredible group of members who enjoy my classes.”
In November, Desiree realized her dream by launching Studio D, a welcoming space where she and her members can come together to dance, exercise, and create joyful memories. “This studio is not just a place to work out; it’s a home where we laugh, connect, and celebrate our fitness journeys together,” she emphasizes.
Desiree’s commitment to the community is further reflected in her personal life; she moved to Port Washington a year and a half ago to ensure her son could thrive in the local school district. Her passion for fitness and her love for the town motivate her to foster an inclusive environment at Studio D, where everyone feels welcome.
